Whoever Created Time Changes: They obviously didn’t have young children.
That’s right folks, this weekend marks the switch every parent of a young child dreads: The Clock Change.
This time, we “lose” an hour and spring forward to Daylight Saving Time.
I admit, I’ve typically a fan of “Daylight Saving” time – I do not want my children up with the sun at 5:30 AM during the summer.
On the flip side, I like having my children in bed by 8 PM, and if there’s daylight then, we’re going to have issues.
But what I really hate, is the SWITCHING between the two – because young children DO NOT CARE what your clock says, they follow their routines.
Now that The Tackler is enrolled in a Mother’s Day Out program, I foresee him suddenly wanting to sleep in next week.
I could go on, but I explained my true feelings about DST being the New Communism when we had to switch last November.
Please, can we quit SWITCHING the time?!?! At least until the year 2020 when my children are more likely to pay attention to what the clock says.
Maybe 2029, just to be safe.
Seriously, what the frak?
This is your friendly Dances with Chaos reminder to go to bed earlier tonight, because that “lost” hour really, really sucks when it hits you on Sunday morning. And then Monday morning.
